Junior News Round-Up 003

Not a lot of news to pass on but I have delayed this post long enough. Hopefully the next one will have more to report.


Nozawa Yuki will get another chance at acting by being a part of the cast of an episode of TV Tokyo's Wednesday Mystery 9, a weekly mystery series that airs on Wednesdays at 9PM. The episode he will be in will air on December 12th.

Nakama Junta from B.A.D. will be in a Nagoya local channel, Meetere, special program that will air on December 17th. The program is in celebration of the stations 50th anniversary and will use the theme of trains. It will also have other celebrities in it, like SKE48's Matsui Rena.

Also the Fresh Junior concert in Yokohama Arena has added another show. It will now be two shows on December 16th, the first starting at noon and the second at 4PM.

Year End Music Programs

Well it is quickly nearing that time of the year, where all the major music programs have their year end specials in the final month of the year. So far the FNS and Best Artist specials have their full lists out and to probably no one's surprised they are full of idol acts.

FNS of course airs on Fuji TV and will air on December 5th this year and be hosted by Kusanagi Tsuyoshi and Takashima Aya.

For the FNS 2012 line up the Johnny's groups are;

Of course Fuji TV is far from the only station to have a program like that as NTV has Best Artist. which will actually air before on November 28th. The program will be hosted by Sakurai Sho and the final list for the performers of the program still has yet to be completely announced.

I will assume there will be more listed soon as we are not too far off from the air date and it is saying that there should be 50 acts in total but only 30 listed so far.

I am pretty excited for both these programs, but probably a bit more for Best Artist as it will have both NEWS and NMB48 on it.

I really do not get why it is Tegomass on FNS instead of NEWS. The only reason I can think of is that because Yamapi will be on the program they do not want his old group there as well in case there might be fans that will try to cause some kind of disturbance because of that. But I guess at least there will be NEWS on Best Artist to look forward to.

HSJ are bound to be really busy this coming holiday season with appearances on both programs as well as starring in Johnny's World. But as a fan I am happy to see them active as a group. Hopefully we will get a new release soon after Johnny's World wraps up as well.

Junior News Round-Up 002

Time to gather some bits of Junior news to share.

First off the rumors about a couple of the members of the Bakaleya6 transferring schools have been proven true. Both Matsumura Hokuto and Kyomoto Taiga are now current students at Horikoshi high school, the school known for having a flexible schedule for those in the entertainer track. Both reportedly had to go back a year so Taiga is in the same class as Tanaka Juri and Hokuto in the class with Sato Shori.

I think this transfer makes a lot of sense. Hokuto has been in dramas non-stop since Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou so going to a school that allows a good deal of schedule flexibility is perfect so he can keep up with that kind of work schedule. For Taiga the school he was attending is one that is strict about missing class, which is probably one of the reasons why he has not gotten as much work as some of the other members of Bakaleya6. So hopefully with the change in schools we will be seeing more of him, as Johnny's does like to push their lead singers in groups.

With Morimoto Shintaro starting high school next year I think it would be safe to say that he will be going to Horikoshi. Especially since his older brother is attending the school. So that would be four out of the six members of the group being eventual alumni of this school. And Shintaro could end up being classmates with Sexy Zone's Matsushima So, as they both turn(ed) 15 this year so they should be in the same grade. That is of course if Matsushima decides to go to Horikoshi of course, as it is an expensive school to go to.

Takada Sho will be in the movie, Sakura, futatabi no Kanako, that will star Japanese actress Hirosue Ryoko and SMAP member Inagaki Goro. Little is known about his part outside of the fact that he has one.

I am happy for him. Takada's biggest breaks seem to all be with acting so I personally would not mind if he becomes one of those Juniors that take an acting route instead of the usual idol route. Especially as he has never been in a Junior group yet.


Nakayama Yuma is scheduled to perform on Music Station next week.


Glad to see Yuma getting on MSte so quickly. This should hopefully mean he will be on the program at least twice, this once the week before the release and next week when the single is actually released. 

NTV's popular people

NTV will be having a three and half hour special program on October 6th that will feature many of their popular people connected to their shows. Of course there are plenty of Johnny's that will be included in this.

So far the Johnny's known to be involved are: Yamaguchi Tatsuya (TOKIO), Aiba Masaki (Arashi), Koyama Keiichiro (NEWS), Kato Shigeaki (NEWS), Nakamaru Yuichi (KAT-TUN), Kamenashi Kazuya (KAT-TUN), Takaki Yuya (Hey! Say! JUMP), Yamada Ryosuke (Hey! Say! JUMP/NYC), Chinen Yuri (Hey! Say! JUMP/NYC), Kouchi Yuugo (Bakaleya6), Kyomoto Taiga (Bakaleya6), Matsumura Hokuto (Bakaleya6) and Lewis Jesse (Bakaleya6).

The site says that there will be more guests than what is listed on their site but these are the Johnny's listed on Johnny's net to be on the program

This seems like it will be a pretty exciting program with how packed it will be with popular guests. And I am happy to see members of TOKIO, NEWS, HSJ and Bakaleya6 there as there will be presence of most of my favorite groups there. Of course for some of the Johnny's there I think they are more there because of the NTV late night dramas this year, especially the Bakaleya6 members. But for having a hit drama they deserve the extra promotion they are getting from it.

I really hope I can find this to watch when it airs, or soon after. I am really curious what they have planned for it and hope it just will not be a clip show.

Sakurai Sho interviews Mikhail Gorbachev

Even though Tokio will be hosting this year's Nippon TV's 24hr TV program they will not be the only Johnny's featured.

Sakurai Sho recently has been doing interviews in the areas of the former U.S.S.R. for a segment on the program highlighting the poverty that can be seen all around the world. While in Russia he got the chance to interview and speak with Mikhail Gorbachev, former U.S.S.R. leader and a Nobel Prize winner. The interview will be shown during the NTV 24hr TV program on August 29th.

I have to say it's amazing to see someone from Johnny's connected to such a historical figure. And I really think that this is yet another way for Arashi to be able to set themselves above their peers and become another legendary boy band like SMAP.

Some NEWS news

Okay, I know I'm falling behind on updating again but thankfully there hasn't been much going on, just a couple of news bits.

First off Koyama Keiichiro has joined the number of Johnny's that are working with a news program. He will be on NTV's NNN News Realtime program every Thrusday. He will be covering human interest stories.

Honestly I'm really happy about this news as this really sounds like something Koyama would really love to do. He's always been very kind-hearted and being able to help people out by letting more know about their hardships is something I can see him being very happy to do.


And for some more recent news, Tegoshi Yuya was in a car accident on March 15th. It was a minor accident so no one was hurt, just a couple of slightly dented cars from the sounds of the report.

Quick news bits.

I've been busy with doing some spring cleaning the past few days as I want to get that done before I have to go back to school at the end of the month. It's kinda amazing how much stuff one can collect over time. But onto the recent Johnny's news.

First off the Kansai Juniors will be doing another drama shorts series. It's currently titled Daremo Shiranai J Gakuen and like their other drama series each episode is set to feature a different cast of Juniors.

For the first episode Kiriyama Akito will be the lead.

Next in drama news, Ohno Satoshi's upcoming drama, Kaibutsu-kun, has announced it's full cast and he will be joined by another Johnny's member. It's not Chinen Yuri though as it had been rumored but rather Matsuoka Masahiro from Tokio. Matsuoka will be playing the prince of the Demon World, Demonkin.

I now realize I need to catch up with my drama watching because if Mabu is in this I'm going to have to watch it. *is helpless fangirl*

Johnny's net has updated for TV events that family club members can ballot to attend, and amongst the usual programs there is a Tegomass special program. There hasn't been any other word about this special, though I have the feeling that it just might be promotion for their upcoming concert tour seeing as they don't have a new release or anything since their first concert tour last year.

Also Hey! Say! JUMP are listed as the guest for the April episodes of Shounen Club. Kinda surprised as I assumed those episodes would be NYC centered with their single coming out around that time, but I'm still glad to see HSJ doing anything as a full group.

Jin's solo concert, and various other Johnny's tidbits

Because Johnny's seems like it's willing to go all out for Akanishi Jin's promotion with his movie coming out soon he will be getting his own solo concert. Or something that will be concert like at least, as it's described as a concert yet it's under the butai section at Johnny's net. Either way Jin will be singing at some point, both new and old songs from what was said in the news reports.

The concerts will be held throughout February at a hefty 11000Yen (about 120USD) ticket price. So I think that kills my liklihood of going, as I definitely do not like Jin enough to pay that much to see him, even though he seems to be more enjoyable to watch solo than when he is with KAT-TUN.

Of course I watched Music Station like usual tonight. I think if Jin was around people he liked, like Yamapi, more often I might like him a bit more. He was actually a bit cute as Yamapi was picking on him and of course his flailing after Yamapi touched his sensitive spot was pretty epic. And Yamapi needs to let this cute, devilish side of him out more as I found him rather cute as well as he goofed off with his friend.

Also there was a commercial for the Snow Prince single which had what looked like a couple of clips from what is most likely the PV for the song. It's the boys singing as the sit in chairs on a winter themed set, so nothing too exciting and hopefully the full PV will have more going on in it than that.

Also Yamapi will be returning to Music Station next week. I would have though Jin would be the one back, as his single actually releases that week but I guess not.

And I went looking for the Hey! Say! JUMP photo book today and in the three bookshops I checked I didn't find a single copy. The closest I got to finding one was one of the stores had a sign saying they were taking pre-orders for it, so I guess today isn't the release date afterall.

And tomorrow I'll be heading down to Yokohama Arena for the first concert of Yamapi's solo concerts. So expect my twitter to be active tomorrow and at least photos of the concert goods, followed by a concert report at some point afterwards. And since I don't have a good seat (in fact no seat at all, as it's a standing ticket) I'll probably go ahead and take notes, so hopefully I'll get as much as I can down.
