26th poll results

I figured it was about time I updated the poll. So here are the results for 'When a group loses a member who do think you should support?'

The group and those who left. 18

The ones remaining in the group only. 6

Those who left the group only. (If were your favorite.) 0

Only the original group with all the original members together. 3

It depends on the situation. 24

It looks like most are pretty loyal to the group when something like this happens, which thankfully is not often.

The new poll will be a favorite member poll for NEWS. Mainly because I realize I have yet to do one for them and that seems wrong seeing as they're my favorite group.

And I'd like to quickly mention, as off topic as it is, I've been rescanning my Johnny's photo collection. I've gotten a good chunk of them scanned so far but I'm going to wait until I've scanned them all before updating the photo post. There have been some changes to the collection as I've decided to get rid of some photos but I've added news ones too. I hope to be done scanning by the end of the month at the latest.

25th poll results

I confess to being pretty stumped on what poll question to have next, which is why these results have taken so long to be posted. I did consider just dropping a poll for a bit but with the recent news I came up with a couple of questions that should get the polls back on track.

So without further ado, here are the results for 'Which HSJ concert should get a DVD release this year?'

SUMMARY 21

Spring concert, Don't care. 15

Winter concert 3

I honestly hope we get a SUMMARY concert this time around. I have the DVD of the first one and it is something a bit different than the usual concert so I think it would be nice for more people to be able to see it.

Now the next poll question will be 'When a group loses a member who do think you should support?' Of course this question isn't just about the most recent news as there have been other groups that have lost members, so feel free to treat it as a more general question about any Johnny's group that has and may one day lose a member for whatever reason.

24th poll results

Figured it was about time I started up a new poll so here are the results of the last one.

Should Akanishi Jin leave KAT-TUN and go solo?

No! 56

Don't care. 28

Yes! 15

Don't know. 9

I'm personally still unsure what I would want but it looks like Johnny's was smart to make sure to stress that Jin's American solo concerts aren't signs that he's leaving the group.

I recently took a look at Hey! Say! JUMP's releases and noticed that they haven't released a concert DVD yet this year. They had releases the past two years, it was the only release in 2009 from them, so this question is 'Which HSJ concert should get a DVD release this year?'.

23rd poll results

With Hey! Say! JUMP finally announcing their first album I figured it was time to change the poll on this blog finally. So here are the results for that.

Which group(s) should release an album in 2010?

Hey! Say! JUMP 102

NEWS 62

Arashi 37

KAT-TUN 30

Tackey & Tsubasa 26

Tokio 18

Kanjani8/V6 17

Kinki Kids 15

SMAP 11

It's actually rather interesting to view the results now. So far the only groups that have confirmed albums for this year have been V6 and Hey! Say! JUMP. I think there's a good chance for Arashi to release a new album this year with how regularly they've been putting out singles. It's hard to tell if NEWS is going to release an album this year, though they do have a song they could put out for a single with Get Funky! but that song could end up being like Change the World (which was used as a CM tie-in) and only show up on an album. With KAT-TUN split for so much of the year it's hard to tell whether they'll push to release an album this year. I know I would love for Tokio to release an album this year but they release so erratically nowadays I won't be holding my breath. The rest I don't think they're ready for their next album for the amount of singles they have out since their last one. Especially poor T&T that still have yet to do anything this year as a group.

For the next poll question I think I'll go with one of the hot topics of late. Should Akanishi Jin leave KAT-TUN and go solo?

22nd poll results

Just wanted to get this out of the way real quick. I'm going to the final Yokohama concert today for Hey! Say! JUMP and will be leaving shortly after posting this. And I will try to make sure I at least put up a highlights report for the concert tonight before I go to sleep. Though I think it may depend on how quickly I can do my homework.

But now onto the poll results for ' Which Junior group(s) do you want to see more of?'.

Kis-My-Ft2 41

B.I.Shadow 36

Mis Snow Man 28

Question? 26

A.B.C.-Z 25

Hip Hop Jump 16

Hey! Say! 7 WEST 15

Butoukan 12

B.A.D. 12

FiVe 9

BOYS 7

Shadow WEST 2

I'm pleasantly surprised that Mis Snow Man managed to rank so high. I mean they don't get a lot of chances to be on stage like some of the other Junior groups so I think it's great that despite that they have a good amount of fans. And I really think Johnny's should be giving the boys more attention as they do seem to picking up a good fan following already and they seem like they'll be the group to take over the spot the older Junior groups hold when they are either taken off of Shounen Club or debut.

On to the next question, Which group(s) should release an album in 2010? This one will also allow multiple choices.

21st poll results

Still sick but I'm feeling pretty bad for doing so little for this blog for this month. I'm not sure if January will be much better with finals coming up that month, but I will try to update more.

Since I want to move on to the next poll topic, here's the results for that last poll: Which group(s) do you want to see more of in 2010?

Hey! Say! JUMP 119

NEWS 87

KAT-TUN 54

Juniors 52

Arashi 43

Tackey & Tsubasa / Kanjani8 28

Tokio 21

SMAP / Kinki Kids / V6 / Kansai Jrs. 19

I can't say I'm surprised by the winner of this poll. I think the HSJ fandom is quite united in the desire to see more of the group this upcoming year than we did in 2009, which actually wouldn't take that much to do. But at least things already seem to be on track to do just that with the group reportedly doing the theme song for Yamada's upcoming drama.

I am a bit surprised to see KAT-TUN so high. I guess because even though they did a lot at the beginning of the year they didn't do much for the second half, expect for Jin who is getting near impossible to escape with all the BANDAGE promotion.

But now onto the next end of year/new year question. Which Junior group(s) do you want to see more of? Like the last poll you can vote for more than one group.

20th poll results

As I'm feeling rather productive today I feel it's about time to start up a new poll, which of course means posting the results of the last one.

Which upcoming special release single are you most interested in?

Yamashita Tomohisa - Loveless 56
LANDS (Akanishi Jin) - BANDAGE 29
None. 25
Snow Prince Gasshoudan - Snow Prince 21

I know after listening to all the singles, or in the case for the LANDS single watched the PV, I think for me Yamapi's single was my favorite of the three. Snow Prince Gasshoudan's single though is rather nice for a Junior group, especially the title track. I really hope the movie gets people to buy this single so it can stay in the charts for a while. And I found myself not being too impressed with BANDAGE. It's nice that it's different from what normally Johnny's releases, but I couldn't get myself to like it after a few listens. In fact the more I listened to it the less I liked it. And I'm not really a Jin fan so that doesn't endear me to try to like it either.

And as the end of the year is coming up I have a few ideas for end of year polls, starting with this one, Which group(s) do you want to see more of in 2010? You can vote for multiple groups in this one.

19th poll results

Guess it's time for me to keep things moving for my polls now that this is finished.

Should Jounetsu JUMP have been released as a single?

Yes. 63
No. 20

I'm not surprised that the majority agreed with me, that Jounetsu Jump should have been a single. Though I think a lot of Hey! Say! JUMP fans would love to have had just about anything released as a single for the group this year. Hopefully Johnny's has something great in store for the group next year or will be really kind and give us a cd release for December. I guess until then there is the photo book that will be released this month to look forward to.

Next question, Which upcoming special release single are you most interested in?
