Kis-My-Ft2 Tokyo Dome concert

It has been announced that Kis-My-Ft2 will be having a concert at the Tokyo Dome on August 28th.

Johnny's net. (Japanese only.)

I'm so proud of them. Performing in the Tokyo Dome is a big feat and it shows that Johnny's has enough faith in them for being able to fill such a large venue. And I can only imagine how the boys will feel being able to be the main performers there instead of back dancers finally. I really wish I could be there with them for this big step in their careers.

I also can't believe it's less then two weeks before their debut single is released. It seems like a dream.

Kawai Fumito injured

It has been announced that during PLAYZONE Kawai Fumito landed wrong and fractured a toe. He is currently on leave for the injury which is said will need surgery. They say he will be out for about a month, which means he will be out for the rest of the Aoyama shows of PLAYZONE.

I hope he gets well soon and wish him luck on the surgery. I can't imagine A.B.C.-Z without him.

On another tangent I actually decided to check out the first episode of Ikemen Desu Ne and so far I enjoy it. I'm a fan of the more lighthearted dramas and while I won't say it's amazing it's still good fun fluff. I was surprised to see the members of They Budou in it and unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with the older back dancing groups to recognize if M.A.D. or M.A.D.E. were the other back dancers shown in the drama. But if you're a fan of They Budou I would recommend watching if only for the locker room scene.

Glad to see another drama role for a KAT-TUN member. I guess even if they don't have their usual concerts they do have other things to keep them busy such as work like this and releasing singles.

I was so sure that this was going to be a tie-in for NYC so I'm surprised that it's HSJ instead. Though I'm not really disappointed because it's about time that they get some releases out on a timely matter. Though it's going to be strange to have them go from the more serious and cool image they had going for their more recent singles back to something that I'm assuming is going to be more cutesy.

And I'm pretty sure this will mean a single as movie tie-ins usually get them. In fact I can't think of a case where there wasn't a single for a movie theme song when it comes to Johnny's.

Of course I think the big question will be if Ryutaro will be a part of the single or not, since he's currently on suspension and there's really been no further official word on what his status will be when he returns.

Kanjani8 new single

Kanjani8 will be doing the theme song for Nishikido Ryo's upcoming drama, Zenkai Girl. The single will come out August 17th and is titled Tsubasa ni Koi.

It comes in two editions, the usual LE with DVD that will have the PV and making of on it and the RE will come with bonus B-side tracks not on the LE.

Tsubusa ni Koi [Regular Edition] / KANJANI8

Tsubusa ni Koi [w/ DVD, Limited Edition] / KANJANI8

With this single I'm more certain than before that Johnny's is aiming to have them release an album before the end of the year. I would expect it to come out late autumn, early winter to be just in time for their usual winter concert tour which should mean they'll be doing the usual Kyocera Dome countdown concert this year as well.

Tackey & Tsubasa new single journey

Tackey & Tsubasa fans can probably feel more at ease now as it looks like the unit will be sticking together for a while as a new single for the group has been announced. The single is titled Journey -Bokura no Mirai- and is set for an August 31st release date.

As usual with the Johnny's groups attached to Avex the single has three versions, two LEs with DVDs and a RE. The difference between the LEs is the first has the PV and making of while the other has solo versions of the PV for the two members. The RE comes with two songs that are not on the LE versions.

Journey Journey - Bokura no Mirai - [w/ DVD, Limited Edition / Type A / Jacket A] / Tackey & Tsubasa

Journey Journey - Bokura no Mirai - [w/ DVD, Limited Edition / Type B / Jacket B] / Tackey & Tsubasa

Journey Journey - Bokura no Mirai - [Jacket C] / Tackey & Tsubasa

So it's not a bad year for the duo compared to the past couple of years. As this will bring them to having a mini album and a single released in 2011.

Aiba returns to work

It has been reported that Aiba Masaki has returned to work on July 5th after being hospitalized a few days prior. He showed up to filming for the VS Arashi program and while he was present did not participate in the physical games on the program.

I'm sure everyone is glad that he's doing much better and is taking things easy still. Arashi still has a busy year ahead of them, especially with a tour but it sounds like he'll do his best with making sure he doesn't push himself too much and I'm sure his fellow group members and staff members will be looking out for his safety too after this.
